REGULATION ON REISSUE OF ACTS OF CIVIL STATUS

Duplicate certificates are issued to persons, for whom the act of civil status is made;

Death certificate duplicate is issued to a relative of the deceased or other interested persons;

Duplicates of certificates of civil status registration for a deceased are issued to a heir at law or a heir by will of the deceased.

Duplicate of the birth certificate of a minor child is issued to parents, custodians, representatives of a tutorial or trustee institution; in case of majority duplicate of the birth certificate can be issued only to parents and to other persons on the basis of a notarized power of attorney;

Duplicate certificates of incapable persons are issued to their custodians.

Duplicate certificates can be issued to other persons on the basis of a notarized power of attorney.

 Duplicate of certificate of servicemen are sent to the commander of the respective military unit. Duplicate certificate of the persons, being in penitentiary departments, are sent to the head of the respective institution.

On the basis of an application of a citizen, for issue of a duplicate of certificate of civil status or another certificate for 10 days, if the respective act is not found in the certificate issuer service and it is necessary to demand it from another territorial office, the state duty makes 2 GEL, and the cost of services is 20 GEL.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR ISSUE OF A DUPLICATE OF A CERTIFICATE OF ACT OF CIVIL STATUS:

Written application of the citizen;

Identity document of the applicant (identification card or the passport);

Receipt of payment of the state duty - 2 GEL;

The certificate is issued on the 5^th working day since submission of the documents necessary for registration stipulated in the law and the service is free of charge;

For issue of the certificate on the 3^rd day since submission of the document, the state duty makes 2 GEL and cost of service makes 5 GEL;

For issue of the certificate the next day since submission of the documents the state duty makes 2 GEL, and the cost of service makes 15 GEL.

For issue of the certificate the same day of submission of the documents the state duty makes 2 GEL and the cost of service makes 25 GEL.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR CORRECTION AND ALTERNATION OF THE ACTS OF CIVIL STATUS:

Written application of the citizen;

Identity document of the applicant (identification card of the citizen or passport);

Certificates of acts of civil status, which should be replaced because of corrections and alternation of the data;

Certificate confirming the necessity of making corrections and alternations in the acts of civil status;

Receipt of payment of the state duty;

• a) The state duty for the 15^th day is 10 GEL, and the cost of service is not paid;
• b) The state duty for the 5^th day makes 2 GEL and the cost of service makes 50 GEL.

The certificate is issued on the 15^th day since submission of the application and the documents, necessary for registration, stipulated in the law, and in case of acceleration - on the 5^th working day. An application on corrections and alternations can be submitted to the place of registration of the applicant or in the respective territorial office of the Civil Registry Agency according to the place of existence of the record to be altered.

CATEGORIES OF PERSONS, EXEMPTED FROM PAYMENT OF STATE DUTY FOR REGISTRATION OF ACTS OF CIVIL STATUS CONCERNING THE CASES, REALIZED BY TERRITORIAL OFFICES OF THE CIVIL REGISTRY AGENCY:

Persons - related to the mistakes made during registration of acts of civil status (if the mistake is made by the registration authorities of acts of civil status);

Persons - for issue of a certificate on registration of acts of civil status, necessary for registration in the social provision authorities, related to appointment and calculation of pension and allowances.

Persons, acknowledged as IDP - refugees according to the regulation envisaged in the legislation.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED TO TAKE CERTIFICATE ON ABSENCE OF CIRCUMSTANCES, IMPEDIMENTAL TO MARRIAGE 

An application of a citizen (submitted in the proper form - with description of the marital status: whether the citizen has been in registered marriage, existence of children, born in unregistered marriage);

Identity document (identification card or the passport);

Document on divorce of the previous marriage (divorce certificate, or marriage certificate and death certificate of the spouse, if the applicant was in registered marriage).

Birth certificate of a child (children) or filiation certificate, if the applicant has a child (children), born in unregistered marriage;

Receipt of payment of the state duty, according to the Law of Georgia "On State Duties" in the amount of 30 GEL, transferred to the respective account.

The certificate on absence of circumstances impedimental to marriage is issued on the 5^th day after submission the application. The given certificate may also be issued in 24 hours after submission of the application.

In compliance to the Law of Georgia "On State Duties" and the Law of Georgia "On Cost for Service, Rendered by the Civil Registry Agency" for issue of the certificate on absence of circumstance impedimental to marriage, the state duty for issue of the certificate in 24 hours makes 30 GEL and cost of service makes 20 GEL, the day of submission of the application the state duty makes 30 GEL and cost of service makes 40 GEL.

The certificate on absence of circumstances, impedimental to marriage is issued in the territorial office of the Civil Registry Agency independently on the place of registration of the citizen.

Additional information: if a citizen of Georgia can not come to the Civil Registry Agency personally to submit the application on issue of the certificate on absence of circumstances, impedimental to marriage, the right for submission of the application on his/her behalf his authorized representative has. The given person should submit the document, confirming his identity and authorities.
