Birth Registration

 

1. Parents, being in registered marriage, should present the following documents to take child's birth certificate:

Joint written application of parents or an application of one of the parents;

Marriage certificate;

Parents' identity document (identification card or passport);

Certificate issued by a medical institution or a judicial decision of a resolution of the civilian registration authority on birth of the child;

The birth certificate is issued free of charge the day of submission of the application and the documents, stipulated in the law. The application on birth registration can be submitted to one of the parents' registration places or the respective territorial office of the Civil Register Agency according to the place of birth of a child.

2. Parents, not being in registered marriage, should present the following documents to take child's birth certificate:

Joint written application of parents or, in the cases envisaged in the Law, application of the father or a judicial decision on filiation;

Parents' identity document (identification card or passport);

Certificate issued by a medical institution or a judicial decision or a resolution of the civilian registration authority on birth of the child;

The birth certificate is issued free of charge the day of submission of the application and the documents, stipulated in the Law. The application on birth registration can be submitted to one of the parents' registration places or the respective territorial office of the Civil Register Agency according to the place of birth of a child.

 

3. Single woman should submit the following documents to take child's birth certificate:

Written application of the mother (certified according to the respective regulation);

Mother's identity document (identification card or passport);

Certificate issued by a medical institution or a judicial decision or a resolution of the civilian registration authority on birth of the child;

The birth certificate is issued free of charge the day of submission of the application and the documents, stipulated in the law. The application on birth registration can be submitted to one of the parents' registration places or the respective territorial office of the Civil Register Agency according to the place of birth of a child.

 

 4. Parents should submit the following documents to take a child's birth certificate after he/she has attained the age of 1 year:

Joint application of parents and the application of the child, after he/she has attained legal adulthood;

Marriage certificate, if they are married;

Parents' identity documents (identification card of a citizen or passport);

Certificate issued by a medical institution or a judicial decision or a resolution of the civilian registration authority on birth of the child;

Certificate from a health institution on the state of health of the child;

The birth certificate is issued free of charge the day of submission of the application and the documents, stipulated in the law. The application on birth registration can be submitted to one of the parents' registration places or the respective territorial office of the Civil Register Agency according to the place of birth of a child.
